Daily Goals - December 18, 2020

Did you know today was Friday? I don’t know what happened to this week. I feel like this week has flown. It has been a rough week for me mentally. Season depression is really, its hard to get outside right now, and pandemic depression is really. These two things are scary. Plus, I never really work tough the custody depression and not being able to get pregnant stuff. It is time that I start to work though this all of this. That way I can move forward with nothing in my past. I need to let it all go, but that is easier to day. It is time to work on my mental state. Wow that is a lot to say. But this is my journal, my place to be true and honest about me. I’m not perfect, and I need to be okay with that. Therefore you get to see that

Today’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6am-5:30pm. We are still learning winter. I have some fun ideas for today.

2.      Cleaning – Clean the craft room.

3.      Decorate – I still have to do this.

4.      Plant seeds – I want to plant seeds in the aqua tanks.

I don’t have so many goals, because I want to get though them. how are you handing the stress and panic of this year?

Gardening Time - 16-15 Weeks before average frost date

I am still in shocked that we are starting 2021 garden. I am so excited to get it started! I can’t wait to see what next years garden bring.

16-15 Weeks before average frost date

v  Clean up around the green house. Work on organizing it. Yes, I know you keep seeing this but this always needs to be done.

v  Plant herbs for indoors.

v  Come up a plan for plan for compost bin. I don’t have a compost bin outside anywhere. I know I need one. Best garden has amazing come compost in it. We are a no spray or add to gardens. I will have to add more mushroom compost this year, but I am hoping that the deep beds in chicken coop will break down to add this winter. I have a friend that has goats, and horse. This year I am hoping to get one amazing compost for 2022. I will be doing that 2 times a year. I will post more about this.

v  Garden Tools- Time to see what I have and what needs to be fixed.

v  Plant Seeds if I didn’t get to it. We need to make seed trays.

18-17 Weeks before average frost date

v  Clean up around the green house. Work on organizing it.

v  Place Seed orders- The magazines will be coming in soon, but I know there are something I want no matter what. I want to get them ordered. – I order a few seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, and Potatoes & Asparagus From Urban Farmer. I know more seed wants will be coming because I have a seed addiction, but I should have what I need for this year.

v  Paint the roof of the Green house. It has been painted in a few years. I want it to last a long time. Painting it will help. – We didn’t get to this. We are having 3-12 inches of snow, therefore we will not be able to get to this. Next year we will have to do it.

v  Hook up the heat to the green house.

v  Sow Herbs – Start Thyme and Parsley seeds.

v  Sow Vegetables – Start Onion and leeks.

v  Start to plan next year’s gardens. What do I want to grow? – I have started to figure out what I want in the garden. I am hoping that we can afford to double the garden size next year. We did plant a lot of berry plants. I pray they come up. I have decided that we will continue to use mulch garden idea. This works best for me. I will work on my posting mine soon.

What are you doing to get your garden started for next year? Do you have plans on what type of garden you want? Are you ordering your seeds? Let me know.

Daily Goals - December 16, 20202

Good morning, Happy Wednesday! 6:15am and 2 littles are already laying on the couch. This is going to be a long day. They are calling for 12-18 inches of snow. Parents went in early to hopeful be able to leave early. Hopeful it works that way. I am honestly expecting at least one child to be left late. But we could use a good snow day.

Today’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6:15-? I guess we will see. We are still learning about winter.

2.      Cleaning – work on cleaning the bedroom. I want to pick it up and finish the wash.

3.      Decorate – I still have to do this.

4.      Plant seeds – I want to plant seeds in the aqua tanks.

5.      Snow removal – We will be shoveling snow today.

Yesterday’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6:30am-5:30pm today. I have 2 little ones today and they are my young ones. We are learning about winter.  I think I might make some fake snow this afternoon and let them play with it. We had a great day! I love my little one time.

2.      Cleaning – Wash, I haven’t been keeping up on it. So there is a good amount that needs to be done. Still have to work on this goal, got some done yesterday but not all of it.  I got a load done. I just have been so slow on it.

3.      Decorate – I haven’t been in the Christmas mood. I don’t know why but I just haven’t feeling it. But it is time to decorate and get ready for it. My little ones get excited and then get me in the mood. During naptime, I will use Cass to hang out with the littles and I will go decorate a little. Nope

4.       Homestead – I have 2 hay barrels of hay left. I will throw them in the chicken coop. It will help them stay warm and have seeds to eat and starch at. They got the last of the hay and were excited for it. I love watching them scratch and be goofy in it. I can’t wait to get them new pull cages for the spring.

5.      Cleaning – Our basement is such a mess. We started last winter to empty it out, and start to reorganize. We got a lot cleaned out and started to move the stuff, but we never got to finish. Spring came, and we had many other things we want to do. Cleaning the basement is a winter thing. We are downstairs, running the fire so it gives us time. Right now, there is so much around the fire place. We need to clean it out, so we can use this winter. Which will help with our heating bill. I didn’t get there. I got in a stupid argument. Therefore put me in the mood to do nothing. Plus I wanted to crash early.

With hubby working from home again, it gives me a change to do more stuff. He watches the littles for ½ hour yesterday so I could work in the greenhouse and the kids aren’t left alone. (I never leave daycare kids alone.) I lay all the little ones down make sure they are sleep and then he brings his computer to the Livingroom and hands out with them. This is soooo helpful because I can’t always get stuff done if I can’t leave the site of them. Yesterday it gave me time to go in the green house and start to clean it, until I had and allergy attack. But I got one shelve clean and another one started. Mice are crazy and in there so that is my issue. Hopeful being in there daily will help keep them out. What do you have planned for today?

Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Last week was a busy week, we knew a snow storm is coming. We had a lot to get ready. We also had a lot of stuff to get ready for up coming events. College Girl was home with us. That was nice. We did have to have a talk about hiding her boyfriend being over. Yes, we are crazy parents that don’t believe it is our right to control her world after being 18 and going to college to control her every move. You want you boyfriend to spend the night that is your choice. But we do want to be told about it. (our belief comes from the fact that we both were living on our own at 18, and running our own life. We are here to guide her in the right direction, but not to force her) She also never gave us reason to not trust her. She though wasn’t telling us, and I almost walked in on them (not full dressed, I has in a tank top, and sweets) and then the next time he parked away form the house and made all my parents walk far to get to the house. I think she gets it now. We also don’t control her or judge her because we want her to be open with us. If you think your parents will be disappointed you won’t tell them we don’t want that either.

We also got several wood stove covers orders this week. We have been working hard on getting those orders filled. I love spend the time with hubby. It gives us something fun to work on together. It also lets me do something he loves with him. It is so important to take time and do things you partner loves to do.

I worked all week, We had so much fun! I love spending time with my littles. We learned about the letter Hh and Hanukkah. The kids had so much fun!

I also did good sticking to THM. The food was good. There were 2 recipes that didn’t turn out right, but every cookbook has them. I was on plan about 90% of the time.

This week is another busy week. But what week for us isn’t busy. I hate sitting around and there is so much to do.  I am hoping for a snow day though and if we get it I will take it and watch Hallmark movies and chill. Maybe have a snow fight with hubby.

Weekly Goals

1.   Plan kids Christmas party – I love holidays with my little ones. They get so excited. I can’t wait to plan out the party fun we are going to have.

2.   Move stuff around our wood stove in the basement. We bought fire wood this year. I want to move the stuff and use the stove. It will reduce our heating cost. With hubby working every other at home, it will make it easier to run though out the day. With this crazy world, I want to save as much money as we can.

3.   Finish up our wood stove covers, and get the next order started. This I want done but Saturday so people can pick up on Sunday.

4.   Decorate – we are decorated for Christmas. I need to get going on this.

5.   Work on gardening Goals! I want an amazing garden next year. Which means working hard to get it there.

I know not everything might not get done. That is okay. Having goals gives me stuff to do and makes me feel like I finished stuff. It helps with my anxiety and feeling of not being good enough. It shows me what I’m doing to make the house a happier and better home. What are your goals for the week? How did your week go last wee

Daily Goals - December 15, 2020

Good morning, Happy Tuesday! The morning started off nice and slow. I got 15 mins of my workout in. Not all of it but some is better then none. I showered and then took my yogurt out of the instant
pot!!! I’m so excited for homemade organic yogurt! I had both yogurt and beef broth cooking yesterday. I love having healthy homemade food for my home and family. The broth will be ready in about 3 hours, but I might wait until afternoon naptime because it will get messy. The rest of yesterday didn’t go as plan. Day was going great, but a little sleepy. After dinner we went and played Mario Kart like always. I few games just to let the stress of the day go and to laugh and have fun. We got off and I laid back and passed out. At 7:30!!!! I can’t believe I fell asleep that early. I am living more as my body will let me know what I need and last night I need sleep. Hubby covered me up and just let me sleep. I fell great this morning. That being said nothing I want to do yesterday really got done. Oh well, that is life.

Love my instant pots (yogurt and beef broth)

Daily Goals - Sunday, December 13, 2020

What a week. So much going on. My anxiety is high again, and I know I need to get it in check because hubby is now feeling it. Our governor has shut down gyms, entertainment place and indoor dining today. This makes my heart so sad for all these people. I stress me because my unemployment help is gone and I can’t get anymore help. That is stressful. I have started to instacart and door dash. To make grocery money so that we can still eat healthy. I am focusing on what I can control and going from there. That is all I can do. We also got 2 glass stove orders in. I am working on them too. I love spending time with hubby and working on projects with him. He is a great teacher and so knowledgeable. I’m so lucky to have him in our live. My college student was here this week. It honestly is hard getting use to her here. Not that she is an issue, but she not uses to the new routines we started. She is though loving Mario cart after dinner. This is so much fun.

Today’s Goals

1.       Work on shirt order- I need hubby’s help with this. I will have it all design and ready. Just hoping the printer works with us.

2.       Gardening time – Work in the green house a little. I need to find time to work in there. It is hard because it is dark before and after dark. Weekend we are trying to do so much.

3.       Kids Knorner -Business paperwork. Receipt day

4.       Side Hussle – I want to make $60 today. Either insta carting or door dash. But I like to be able to cover the grocery’s this week.

5.       Side Hussle – work on wood stove covers. We have 3 wood stove covers going right now. All in different stages. I would like to work on them and get them done.

Today is a busy day. We have a lot going on. But it is important stuff. Trying to make money to have the wood business going so hubby can do that. Work from home. That would be nice. What are you doing today?

Gardening Time - Vicks Plant

Vicks Plant

While at Black Creek Nursery this year. Hubby and I came across this amazing plant. It looked like a mixture of a succulent plant and oregano. Hubby looked at it and smelled it and called me over right away. He like it smells like Vick vapor rub. I smelled it he was right! Right then we new we were going to buy some. I am sensitive to the eucalyptus in the Vick’s vapor rub. It gives me a headache. Therefore, we can’t use it in the house. We both wondered if this plant was the answer to that. We bought to a decided to see where that goes.

I looked it up when we got home. It is Vicks plant (Plectranthus Tomentosa). Many sites have talk about it being as good as the rub. Some sites also said it would attract bees and butterflies and repel mosquitoes. We though this plant couldn’t get better.

Potting cuttings

I planted with my saint John wort. More as a cover crop to the pepper and egg plants. It did spread all over the garden bed. Not as good as I hoped it would but enough to add another layer of plant mulch to the bed. Though I don’t know if it was happy there or not. It had sunny light but was covered with plants. I harvest 6.95 ounces of it, this year. I don’t think that is two bad for a plant that was $2.95. The other cool part was I took cutting of the plant. They all rooted, and I have 9 cutting growing into plants!

Look at the roots on the plant

How to use the plant; I’m still trying to figure that out. I soak all that I harvested in olive oil. It turned out smelling horrible. I was hoping to pull out the oil and make it into ointment. I think I might try it in coconut oil next time. I have read you can boil it and breathe in the vapors. I also have seen where you can make it as a poultice. These things are great ideas. I might try that.

Vicks plants

Have you ever grown, or heard of Vicks Plant? Have you used it? What was your favorite way to use it?

Daily Goals - December 7, 2020

Happy Monday! I can’t believe it is midday already. Where did the day go? I have 2 little ones today. We are learning about the letter Hh this week. I also started my checklist again on keeping up with the house. Hopeful it helps, but who knows. Keeping a perfectly clean house when I have myself, hubby and my daughter, then 2-6 littles here for 11-12 hours five days a week. Is not easy. I try but I’m not prefect. Today I will be working on clean up the kitchen. What are you doing today? Here are my goals

4.       Grocery shopping – My Insta chart has run out. This is a little worry some, because I need something, I can order it when the littles are here. I think it will help us make money and save some money. I enjoyed it and made okay money, while shopping for myself. It was like 2 birds one stone. I think I can do it 1st thing one the weekends when hubby sleeps in and it will should make us enough to cover our grocery bill.

5.       Cleaning – Clean out frig.- I got this done and hubby was amazing and took out the trash for me.

Today I’m going to work on finishing my goals from yesterday. Never just sitting still here.

 Happy Tuesday!

Chocolate Cherry muffins and Linden tea

Started the day off with my workout. I’m trying to get use to eating 1st thing in the morning. This is hard for me. I normal run around all morning I mean it is just 11 am and I’m finally sitting to write my morning post (though I do eat with the kids at 8:30am). I have over 8,000 steps in already. But I’m back to Trim and Healthy Mama life style on eating. This is what makes sense to me and I enjoy eating and not counting my calorie (honestly don’t have time for that) and the fasting diet worries me. I’m not a time eater. I like to eat when I’m hungry. THM works for me. What works for you is great. Anyway before my rant. On the diet you are suppose to eat every 3hours and eat carbs before a workout. I don’t eat in the morning, sitting down and eating so out. I made 3 sets of on plan E (carb) muffins so I could eat while I’m feeding pet and getting workout stuff done. I’m still having trouble. Today I felt like I was forcing myself to eat. I don’t want to get up any earlier to eat 4:45am comes early enough, no muffin is making me get out of bed. I did eat it though, so I did start the day off right.

Today’s Goals

·         Work – Today I work 6:30am-6pm. I have my babies today so it will be a fun day.

·         Clean Bedroom – I need to change out bed sheets, and get them washed. Pick up our room a little bit and then vacuumed after work.

·         Reading – Today is a reading day. I want to slow my body down tonight and read for 20 minutes. It is very important to keep my mind working out too.

·         Workout – On week 2 of my Country Heat, I love this workout so much. I also found out one of my old little parents is a beach body coach. I changed my info to her so she gets my scription bonus. (I know they get paid though selling stuff) That was a plus for her. Though I did tell her I don’t want to be sold to. I love beach body on Demand and that is Work- I work from 6:30am-6pm today. We are learning about the letter Gg this week.

·         Meeting tonight – We are meeting with people tonight about an air system. I’m super excited about.

Yesterday’s Goals

·         Workout – Last week because I was off a few days I didn’t get up and workout. Time to get back in it. I also started my new waist trainer today. Oh My Goodness. It is tight. Not can’t move tight, but you can tell my body is ready for this.  Workout is done. I really enjoy my workout. Hubby wasn’t a fan of the clapping at 5:15am so I have to be quieter. Was trainer made it until 3pm then I took it off. I am trying again today for a full day.

·         Dinner – Tonight is dinner with my parents at Red Lobster. Free meal, is a great idea. Dinner was good. We did get talked into one of the things now finding the money for it is the issue.

·         Set up my goals for the week. I didn’t set up my goals. Which always makes me feel bad. -I didn’t get to thins

·         Cyber Monday – Put in my 2 orders. One at Trim Healthy Mama and the other Herbal Zine. – I ordered way to much yesterday! I am happy with what I ordered, but next time I should do a little less or plan better.

·

What are your goals for today? Let me know, you have a blog hook them up! Lets work together to be the best we can be.

Gardening Time - Ordering seeds

One of my favorite times of year is the time where I get to plan my garden and order seeds. I love seeds, because I love plants. This year we are going to work a lot on growing our plants from seeds. I’m hoping to grow enough plants to have them for my garden and be able to sell them cheap ($0.50-$1) Just to cover the cost of the seeds and stuff we need for the garden. I don’t want to make a profit. I just want to cover my cost. I mean you get 300 onion seeds, I won’t need 300, if I can sell then to make up the difference that would be amazing. If not, I will give them away.

I’m chancing the way we are eating and also need spring and fall crops. From Baker Creek, I ordered onions, spinach, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, luffa (I know I need that seed). I also ordered their Catalog, honestly that was the reason I went to their site. I love their catalog, it has so much awesome info in it. I can’t wait for the seeds to come in.

I also placed an order with Urban Farmer. This will be the 1st time I order through them. I got a coupon for 15% off for Cyber Monday. I need potato seeds for the year and asparagus, for the new asparagus garden. I will transfer asparagus roots we have but new roots will be nice too. I’m hoping that this company is better than the last one I used.

What seeds are you ordering for the year? Would you rather start from seeds or buy transplants? Check out my other 18-17 weeks before average date of last frost goals. Let me know what you are doing in the garden.

Gardening Goals ~ 18-17 Weeks Before Average Frost Date

The Week-by-Week Vegetable Gardener’s Handbook has flipped to the being again. This is one reasons I love this book so much. I can use it over and over again. Can you believe we are going to start seeds for 2021 Garden!!! I’m so excited. 2020 Gardening has harvested 151.28lbs of food! 😄 My goal was 100 lbs. We are still harvesting celery, rosemary, and sage out of the garden. My garden has become completely kid friendly, meaning nothing but water is going on it. My littles are little most are 3 and under, they grab food and eat it. I don’t want them to fear eating anything.

18-17 Weeks before average frost date

v  Clean up around the green house. Work on organizing it.

v  Place Seed orders- The magazines will be coming in soon, but I know there are something I want no matter what. I want to get them ordered.

v  Paint the roof of the Green house. It has been painted in a few years. I want it to last a long time. Painting it will help.

v  Hook up the heat to the green house.

v  Sow Herbs – Start Thyme and Parsley seeds.

v  Sow Vegetables – Start Onion and leeks.

v  Start to plan next year’s gardens. What do I want to grow?

I am so thankful this year for having the time to get back into my garden.  Know COVID-19 was a huge pain, but it did give me so much time for my garden and a chance to geek out about it. We have plans to extent it this year. Then it will be as big as I want it until we decide if we want to move or not. What are you doing in your garden?
