Gardening and Cooking~ How to freeze Mulberries

First I weigh them
I just picked so many mulberries today. I want to turn them into pie and jam. I will put some in the refrigerator for the pie, but for the jam I'm going to freeze them. The reason I freeze them instead of making jam is because I don't want to heat up the house, I'll wait until its cold out and heat up the house.

What I use to clean them

The first thing I do is clean the mulberries. I use white vinegar and water. I use enough water to over the berries and add about 2-3 tablespoons of vinegar.

Then into water and cover them
I put the Mulberries into the water and left them there for about 5-10 minutes. This helps clean and kill anything that is one them.

Drain them
Then I drain them a little at a time and let them sit for a few minutes. I let them sit because I want as much water off them that I can get.
Put onto cookie sheet

After they are drained, I place them on a cookie sheet this lets them freeze and not be stuck together. This helps measure them, or take a few out.

Into freezer
Into the freezer they go. I will leave them in there for about 4 hours.

After that they go into a huge freezer bag and will be in our freezer until the weather is cold outside and I have time to make jam. Plus they can be used for smoothies and pies. The aren't stuck together so it will be easy to just take out what is need.
What do you do with your fruit? Do you make jam right away?
