Daily Goals - November 8, 2020

Good Moring! It’s Sunday. It is supposed to be amazing outside. I am loving this weather but so sad I planned my menu for the month around freeze cold weather last weekend. We have soup on the menu tonight. I might change it to grilled chicken.

Today’s Goals

·         Business Work – As a daycare owner my work is never done. (I work between 10.5 -12 hours a day. On the weekend, I have the paperwork, the government needs. Also have any deep cleaning that needs to get done.) Today I have paperwork, receipt for my families, write my hours I worked all week, balance accounts, and write a note to all my parents.

·         Gardening Time – I want to clean up in front of my green house, and start to clean up inside of my green house. I have not taking good care of it though out the growing season.

·         Homestead goal – I want to weed whack back to my beehives and pull them out. I want to clean them up. We did not have luck with this year.

·          Clean –
I want to straighten up the house and have it ready for tomorrow. This will make my money morning easier
.

Nice Neat wood pile

Yesterday’s Goals

·         Homestead goal – Stack firewood. Hubby and I finished it up! I’m so happy not to have a pile of wood in the middle of the yard.

·         Clean up kitchenWe made the eclairs yesterday. They didn’t come out right, I tried tripling the recipe 2 times. Okay didn’t have to do that because the amount on the recipe was wrong. I don’t think the batter every came together. I worked on them all day. When I stopped, I just walked away. Leaving my poor kitchen, a hot mess. My kitchen looks like a kitchen again. Not that a bomb went off.

·         Weekly Goals Set up my weekly goals for next week. Print out my daily checklist for a clean and organized house. Setting my week lets me work toward my yearly goals. I have my goals and list for this week.

Moving the wood beat up my body. I was so sleepy I took a nap. It was so nice. At some point, I have to go to the store to get a tarp for it. What did you do yesterday?

Cooking ~ Tutu's Skillet ~ How I inherided over 50 year old skillet and cleaned it

My Uncle asked me, if I would like to have my Tutu's skillet (Hawaiian for grand-mom). Of course I said yes! It is so cool to have something hand down that my Tutu, and uncle both used!

Cleaning My Tutu's skillet
He did warn me that the needed some TLC. I did my research and learned how to clean them. I used the information that was on wiwiHow. It couldn't have been easier. I used baking soda and a potato. I scrubbed them for about 15 minutes each. Then covered them with oil and baked them at 350 for an hour.

Seasoning the skillet

After they were done in the over, I start to cook with them. We were having pierogies for dinner. I fried p some oil and added some Mrs. Dash ~ Garlic and Herbs. Then fried up my pierogies, mmm they were great!

Cooking in the Skillet
After I was done cooking a watched a Youtube video on how to clean the pan. It was as easy as the lady said. I clean it with hot water and a brush. I dried it and then re-oiled it.

This one looks like new

Looks a little use, but wouldn't guess its over 50 years old
Now every time I cook, I will have my Tutu with me! This is an amazing gift my uncle gave me and one I will treasure for the rest of my life. It a gift that can never be replaced! I am hoping to pass it down to my little one! Could you imgaine cooking the meals for your family from the pan your Great-Grand mom used!

Cleaning- Morning Cleaning Schedule

Being a working mom and a nanny makes my house work suffer at home. I work and clean all day at work, Therefore when I come home I don't want to do anymore. To be truly honest, I just want to go home and crash after working 10 hours and driving two hours I'm just beat.

I started to pray and figure out what to do with my home life because it is so crazy, messy, and unorganized. It is driving me nuts. I had to be honest, I need help to keep the house clean. Then had to think, I get home at 7-7:20 and we eat dinner around 7:30pm. At 8pm how much time will I be able to give and ask my family to help me with? I decide I would ask for 30 minutes.

Now thinking wash takes 60 minutes, that isn't going to work. I also decided that in the morning, I could give  up 30 minutes to clean up too.

Here is my new morning cleaning routine
5:30am - Hang up the laundry outside, throw wash that was on the line into the dryer to fluffy, new wash in the washer.
5:40am - wash morning dishes and any late night dishes put away yesterday's dishes
5:50am - wipe down sink, counter, and set table for dinner
5:50am - make our bed

Doing chores in the morning will give me time at night to focus on one room to clean. This routine also give me time before I have to leave to feed the pets, walk the dog, blog and eat breakfast, before work.

What do you do in the morning?

Gardening Tip ~ Use a bottle brush to clean gardening pots

Figuring this out!
I can across this tip, while I was cleaning my pots! I was getting frustrated by trying to get the rag in the tiny cells. Then I saw it the bottle brush. It worked so well, just put in and twist. It cut my cleaning time in half.

I should have thought of this earlier!
Hope this helps you. How do you clean you pots? Any helpful tips?

Today's Goals- February 16, 2013

Yesterday was a busy day! Hubby last day off until Monday and we had a lot of running to do. Plus we had my littlest nephew with us. We had to go to his old work, the mall, post office, and Zerns. Plus we then we decide to start some outside projects. He had a shed to start to build and I want to work on one of my new garden areas. We didn't get as much outside done as we want to but at least we got a start.

Today's goals
1. Eye appointment- my last contact broke. I need new contacts. So off to see them. It is a new place I'm going to, therefore I hope the give me a trail pair of contact to use until my new ones come in.
2. Clean starter seeds pots- I have used all my clean pots! Which means I have planted over 200 seeds. Wow that sounds a lot. I have so many more seeds to plant. Good thing I have so many pots.
3. Read my library book- I haven't really been reading this book, but I need to its due on Thursday. I'm going to take it to the eye doctors with me. Hopeful get to read some of it.
4. Clean the kitchen- ugh it is a huge mess. I want to clean it up and have the table set and ready for dinner.
5. Make dinner for hubby- I'm thinking steak, twice baked potatoes, corn and salad. Do you think he will like it?

What do you have planned for the day? How are you doing on your daily and yearly goals?
