Wedding Wenesday ~ Engament Party

I had an amazing in Engagement Party. My mother throw it for us and so many people were there! I was a little sad that Hubby's family couldn't make it. They live 2-3 hours away and my mom had the party at 6pm. So I understand, but I know hubby was sad about it.

Not best Picture of us
My best friend came in from SC to sped the weekend with us. Her son is getting so big. I was so excited to spend time with her. Even though she took all my make-up home with her.
At the party I asked all my brides maids to be in my wedding as well as the groomsmen. I made them a bag with aspirin, ring pop, and coffee in the bridesmaids bag, hubby switch out the coffee for a shot. He sad the guys might need that more! We also made up a bag with ring pops in it for the kids in our wedding. I handed them out.

Lol we were feeling it the next day
After that it was time to party! My mom made amazing food and we had drinks! It was a blast. Only issue we had later was only one person took pictures. I have to remember to bring a camera next time.

Daily Goals ~ Wednesday, November 27, 2013

  3. Cook ~ cook all the desserts for Thanksgiving. I'm making peanut butter fudge cookies, min brownies, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread.
  4. Cleaning ~ clean the mudroom. I have to sweep and vacuum.

  2. Pet ~ Today I have to give the cat and dog a bath. I also have to clean the chick coop. - The pets got a bath, they both were mad at me. But they are clean and ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I didn't get to the chicken coop. I will try to do it on Saturday.
  3. Cleaning ~ Today is the living room's turn to get cleaned! I want to stream vacuum and dust everything! - Hubby and I got the living room clean. I love the house when it's cleaned and picked up.
  4. Cooking ~ I need to cook up my pumpkins.  Fresh pumpkin always makes a better pie. - Nope still haven't gotten to that. There no choice, it has to get done today.

What are you doing today? Are you traveling?

Gardening - Researching Bay Tree

I have be doing a lot of research on plants, I want in my herb garden. I started with plants I use. Basil, thyme, dill, but I already that them in my garden. Therefore I didn't need them. Then I though of the spice I love to use, but they are costly. Bay leave was the first thing I thought of. But I don't know about bay leave other than they are a tree. There are some many question.  I am working on researching the general information on it.

1. What is a bay tree?
The first thing I do when I research a plant is look it up in Wikipedia . Yes I know all the information on there might not be true, but it gives me a start and a scientific name which is Laurus nobilis. This tree is from the Mediterranean. The tree grows and you can use the leaves in the food your. But you can not eat the leave!

2. Can I grow it outside in my area?
Yes, but they need protection from our winters. Veggie Gardening tips says that you can grow them in a container. I'm still a little iffy about that. The site also said that it does better the more it is outside.

3.  How old do it have to be to use the plant?
You can use the leaves, right away. You really should though let them grow a few leaves before you use them. That way you don't kill the tree.

4. Where can I buy one?
I found a site that sells the to Pa and all the feed back on the plants were great.  the Grower Exchange I think I'm going to get my from there. Two plants will be about $20 it's not that bad.

5. Are they hard to grow?
They say that if you plant them in the ground where they wouldn't get wind. They should be fine, but don't over love them. You will kill them then. I also read that if you plant them in pots they might not live very long.

These are the first questions I ask before I decide if I want one or not. (Unless someone gives me seeds for free) Do you have a Bay tree or know anything about bay leaves?

Weekly Goals~ November 26 - December 3, 2013

Wow, I can't believe that it is December already this week. I have must of the week off this week. Which is nice, because I am cooking Thanksgiving dinner at my house for 11 people. What are you doing for dinner this week?

Weekly Goals
  1. Work ~ I work on Monday this week that all.
  2. Cleaning ~ Ugh I hate cleaning but I have to get the whole house in order, before Thursday.
  3. Thanksgiving ~ make dinner! I love cooking this meal. This is my favorite holiday, because it makes us think of what we have. This year might be a little weird, because there is going to be a huge elephant in the room. I just hope we don't focus on it.
  4. Gardening ~ Start to organize and clean my garden pots. It is a huge mess in my garden area.
  5. Reading ~ Finish My book I have been reading. Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer by Novella Carpenter this book has some awesome information in it. I hoping to write a book review on it. There for you know what I think of it. I got it from the library!
  6. Black Friday ~ I want to go out and get all the gift bought and wrapped on Friday! I love shopping this day. I also love having the gift bought and wrapped so I don't have to worry about them and if other people (I didn't plan on buying for) pop up and can get gifts and not stress about it.
  7. Christmas~ After Black Friday, my Christmas plans start! I hope to get the house decorated. Everyone is off so t will be fun.
That is all my goals this week because I know cooking and cleaning will take up most of my time! Hope you have a wonderful holiday week. Let me know what you are doing.

Gardening Research - Bay Leaves

Here is a helpful video on bay leaves. This guy gives so much information on the plant. I didn't learning that it the plant can't take the cold and the wind at the same time. Makes think about were I'm going to plant it. I'm thinking if I plant it be the inside the gate. I also thinking maybe I will put my long green house over them for the winter. The hardest part of doing that would be remembering to water them in the winter.

Daily Goals ~ Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Today is hubby and my day off together. I love those day's. I am still working though getting over this allergy attack. I had another reaction last night. We found the air filter and start to run it. I'm doing 70% better. What every we put in the air needed to get out of the ar.

Today's Goals
  1. Errands ~ I have to get cat soap and coffee creamer.
  2. Pet ~ Today I have to give the cat and dog a bath. I also have to clean the chick coop.
  3. Cleaning ~ Today is the living room's turn to get cleaned! I want to stream vacuum and dust everything!
  4. Cooking ~ I need to cook up my pumpkins.  Fresh pumpkin always makes a better pie.
I am only doing 4 goals for today, because the cleaning will take up most the day. What are you dog today? Are you getting ready for people to come over?

I haven’t been very good with putting up my weekly menu. We do normal try to stick to it. I will be honest though, there are some nights we cheat and grab dinner. I’m trying though to stick to my $170 a month budget, so eating out has to stop. What is your monthly grocery budget?

Gardening tip- What Plant Will Help with a Cut

Thank you for the information

I have been looking for more plants to grow that have medical benefits. This year we are planning to add a herb gardening to our house. I would rather depend on nature that was giving to us than companies that want to make money. (I am not saying that if you have issues don't see your doctor, because the do have ways to help you and I'm not a doctor) This Picture gives 3 ways to cover you cut that will help it heal too. After reading this and earn more about rose. I have decided I want 2 rose bushes next year in the garden.

Do you have an herb garden? If so what do you have growing in it?

Daly Goals ~ Moday, November 25th, 2013

Good Morning! It is really cold here. There is frost on my screen door. I got done the wash, started a fire and feed the pets already things morning. I'm still very sleepy and had to take 2 allergy pills. I was cleaning last night and found were my unwanted visitor (mice) were staying. Ugh the reaction I had, put me outside for 10 minutes and in bed for the night. But the area is cleaned and we put poison bates down. I feel bad killing them, when they are doing what nature want them to, but yuck!

Today's Goals

1.      Work ~ I work from 8-6 today, my last day of work until after the holiday! I'm excited to have off there is so much around my house I would love to get to. It is hard to work and keep house.
2.      Clean ~ I want to knock out the dishes, and have an empty sink before bed. I'm going to try to make that a goal before every night for the next week. That way I can see if doing that will make the morning easer.
3.      Cooking ~ today we are having Rosemary chicken for dinner. I also have about $100 of meat at my bossed house that I sealed up, but forgot to bring home. I have to remember it.
4.      Workout ~ Ugh I can't believe I forgot to work out this weekend. Ugh, but I was busy running all over and cleaning. How do working moms get a chance to work out?
5.      Reading ~ this weekend, I didn't get to read much. I was busy cleaning. I want to read at least 2 chapters on my book Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer by Novella Carpenter. It is a great read already and hubby laughing at me because I want turkeys now.
What are you doing today? When does your Holiday break start?

Daly Goals ~ Saturday, November 23, 2013

Today is a cleaning day. I have a lot still to get done and not a lot of time. I have wash going and have the fire going. That is all. I am being lazy today and not getting much done, that really doesn't help with cleaning the house.
Today's Goals
  1. Cleaning Kitchen ~ I still have to dust, clean top cabinets, a clean frig and scrub the back door, clean windows and scrub the other walls.
  2. Run Errand for hubby ~ I have to run 1/2 away to get him pieces on for his new bike. It works out for me because he promise to help me clean on Tuesday when we both are off.
  3. Dinner ~ Tonight is my bother wedding shower dinner. The bride is being a bridzilla and wanted dinner instead of a shower. (she want a huge shower that would cost over $1000, so we said no) Therefore we have to go to this. I wasn't suppose to get them anything, but  have been picking up little stuff since they announced their date.
  4. Cook my pumpkins~ I didn't get to it last night, I need them cooked!

Yesterday's goals
  1. Bills- this is one area that I am very OCD about I pay my bills using an old calculator that prints out what I'm paying I have a new book plus I have an app on my iPad that matches my accounts and my Redbook.  (and yes it is very disappointing looking at because we are not rich and we do not make a lot of money) this helps me know what's in the accounts and make sure that everything is getting paid I like pen and paper but I also love the app I use because it gives me it high chart of what is going on. I also use an app that is helping us get out of debt. ~ everything for the week is paid. Plus figured out Black Friday money!
  2. Cooking with garden harvest- today I am going to start cooking up my pumpkins to get them ready for Thanksgiving! ~ didn't get to it, but made an awesome dinner for hubby.
  3. Cleaning- today I want to get my kitchen clean I want to clean the walls and everything so it is going to be a long day at our house!~  got 1/2 of it done, but took sometime out to think.
  4. Errands- I have to run to the bank, to the grocery store, to milk store, and to the fruit stand today.~ I got my running around done, I still need a few more things for dinner, but want to see if they would go on sale next week.
  5. Work out- I also want to hit the gym today and get in a cardio workout! ~ I timed my errands perfectly to hit the gym when I wanted to be there, but didn't think about having 3 gallons of milk in the car and frozen veggies. I skipped the gym and cut up or veggies to make them easier to eat.
I Know, I normal have 5 goals, but the cleaning will take most the day so I don't want to over do it. What are you goals for today?
