Weekly Goals ~ May 6th-13th, 2014

Having yearly goals  helps me focus on thing and the way I'm loving my life. I set a lot of goals for 2014 and to accomplish them; I need to break them up to bite size pieces. So I break them up weekly.

Weekly Goals
  1. Work ~ this week I work three to half days. 
  2. Gardening ~ I want to clear out all my garden boxes and start to plant plants in. 
  3. Gardening ~ do another garden tour around the yard
  4. Gardening ~ post about everything I've harvested down the garden already
  5. Cooking ~ stick to menu
  6. Reading ~ work on reading "Greene on Greene" by Bert Greene
  7. Mother's day ~ I'm so excited! I will get a lot of help in the garden! Also I have annual breakfast with my mom and Tutu! After that I have church. It will be an awesome day!
  8. Exercise ~ I hope to walk the dog 5 times this week for 1/2. Also do daily exercise all week. Three days this week build up my elliptical time.  
  9. Family ~ I want to play 2 games of volley ball or bat-mitten this week.  
  10. Gardening ~ help my boss get her garden planted!! 
This Week is going to be a lot of outside time! I'm so excited to get to it. What are you doing this week?

Gardening - Onion tops

My Onion tops

Did you know onion tops can be used like scallion or chives? I found this out last year! I could believe I was wasting food! 

I have read in a few place that it helps the bulbs grow better it you use the tops. When you use the tops, the flowers won't be able to bloom. That means the plant will focus on the bulb. 

Have you ever used them? They are easy to harvest just cut them and use them like chives.

I have been trying to find ways to live more healthy and organically. One way is to harvest food out of the gardens.

April this year was very cold and not much have come up. I was excited to see onion, garlic and asparagus. 
This year I am trying to harvest 500lbs of food out of the gardens. It is a huge amount of food but I have a lot of area to grow in. 

As of April 30th, 2014, I have harvest 1lb 2.08oz of food. I have a lot more to go! 



Daily goals ~ Wednesday, May 7th, 2014

Cass Harvesting Asparagus
Good Morning, I feel like I pushed myself to hard last night. I know this is a good pain, but burning 550 calories really works out my body. I did though love coming home and playing badminton with the family last night. It was great family time. We also harvest some food yesterday. Almost a pound of Asparagus out of the gardens. Little one was excited, it is on of her favorite veggies.

Today's Goals
  1. Work ~ Today I work fro 8a- 2p. It is only little man and I. It will be nice to get some one on one with him.
  2. School Event ~ Cass is in the reading challenge again this year. I' so proud of her. She read a 100 books and will compete against other school on who know the books best. 
  3. Gardening ~ I a laying down some organic chemicals around the trees and garden beds. This way I can get ride of some of the millions of ants in my yard.
  4. Family Time ~ Play badminton again of volley ball.

Daily Goals ~ Tuesday May 6th, 2014

Good Morning, hope you guys had a awesome day yesterday. On  Pa Gardeners we talked about Lily of the Valley, today we are going to talk about it a little more. I have a busy morning today, with the baby  bunnies living in the coop I have to keep it clean. That is another thing added to the list.

Today's Goals
  1. Work ~ I work from 8am - 6pm today. It all the little ones and I. We are going to have fun today!!
  2. Cooking ~ post Menu and stick to it.
  3. Exercise ~ Today I'm going to walk the dog, do the daily exercise, and 10 min elliptical.
  4. Family time ~ I going to see if hubby can put up the Volley Ball net and we can play a game tonight. It will be nice, plus a little more work out.
  5. Cleaning ~ Stick to cleaning schedule, today is mudroom.

Daily Goals ~ Monday, May 5th, 2014

Good Morning, I had such a horrible time falling asleep last night. I was up until 1am. That is so late I normal fall asleep around 10pm. I did sleep in a little made hubby coffee and then back to bed until 7am. Now little one is off to school and hubby is at work. Everyone is feed. I am good to go!

Today's Goals
  1.  Cleaning ~ I want to clean the living room and kitchen today.
  2. Cooking ~ Write up the menu for the week
  3. Gardening ~ Weed Garden Box 2 and Garden Box 3
  4. Pets ~ Spend some one on one tie with each pet. Clean out the chicken coop, and let the bunnies run around.
  5. Church ~ Today is the day I have my activity meeting planning with the ladies from church! I'm so excited.
