2021 off to a crazy start

This year has started off CRAZY! Hubby bed popped. Yep, you read that right. We have a sleep number bed and it popped on his side. We love the idea of this bed, but the fact that they can’t get someone out to fix it for 20 days. Is so crazy. If we didn’t need the two types of bed, I need soft and Hubby need soft. We go with another company. You can’t though because no one else offers it. Hubby end up after 3 days of sleeping on wood, that he needs an air mattress. He got a cheap on off amazon. I’m so thankful because I felt horrible.

That was crazy enough, we found out my mom had covid-19, and we had new years eve together. My family is close and decide in April of 2020 that we choose family, knowing that one gets it we all would get it. Now we all were tested prior to New Eve and everyone was negative.  My mom having it was a shock. I am supper sad about it though, because it means we were all exposed. Well, everyone that was their New Year eve has gotten it. My mom has a cold and is fatigued (and if you know my mom that is crazy). My dad has a slight cold. My husband and I both have it. Hubby is the sickest with a cold that is beating him up all the time. I have a little cold but doing okay. Cass (my daughter) was at her dad’s and didn’t get it. But of course, came right before I told her that my sister-in-law had it. She was exposed and now in the camper and couldn’t go back to school. My little brother family 3 tested positive 2 with major cold systems for 3 days and then they are going, and one with no symptoms. They whole family but one brother has it and has been quarantined. Which also means my business is closed. Income will suck!!  There is no help right now for it. Though we are happy my husband is still getting paid.

This year though has shown us who we really matter to. We have had so many people reach out and ask us what we need. I have had offers to go grocery shopping for us to making us dinner. SO many prays and people checking up on our family.

This year has been crazy, people broken to the USA Capitol. It is more now Black vs White, Democrats vs Republicans. Everything we are see is pinning America against each other. I have read the world is crazy though. Lock downs have started back up in other countries, and they are having blackouts. I don’t live there it is only what I’m reading.

I though look at the good I’m seeing and focus on that. Well getting sleepy, the fatigue comes on quick. I will write more tomorrow.

2021 Yearly goals

I’m a planner. It makes me feel better having plans and goals. Having something to work toward makes life more fun. 2020 was a year of learning for me. Learning to be okay with things I can’t control. This has been very hard for me mentally. I have started to come around to it. This is a huge Trauma for me, because I have lost a lot due to it. I have to be okay with not having control and knowing God has a plan. Once I work though that it will all come together.  This year though has been a year of Family! We have never had more family time then we do right now. My daughter was home because schools we close the last few months of her senior year and hubby worked from home. We also had lot more time with my niece and nephew. My extended family grew closer. We decided we wanted to be in it altogether and take what comes with it. We never quartered from each other. We had family time and came closer. This was very important because both my brothers also have their own business and were affected with the covid-19. Having each other through this was very important. 2020 we also send our daughter to college. This was such and amazing event. She got to go to her dream school and have live classes! This was so exciting. This year was different, and kept us on our toes. Hoping 2021 is a little less on our toes and more relaxing.

2021 Goals

Family Time

1.        Plan a fun day for hubby and I once a month. Weather it is a fire outside, or beach trip. Just something nice for the 2 of us.

2.       Plan a family weekend vacation trip to the beach trip.

3.       Plan an extended family beach trip.

4.       Plan once of month family game night.

Garden

1.       Extend the garden.  I would like to double it in size.

2.       Start 50% of my plants from seeds.

3.       Grow 200lbs of food from the garden.

4.       Start a compost system.

Animals

1.       This year I want to get bees. I have a lot of studying to do so we don’t lose them. We are hoping to have 2 colonies to help each other grow.

2.       Meat chickens – This year I would like to get some meat chickens. I am thinking about doing 3 groups of 15-20. I want to raise more of our own food. I am researching so I know how to process them. We eat chicken a lot. I love to be able to save ½ the price on the meat. I like to learn this year.

3.       I want to make a movable rabbit cart and see how it handles. I would love to do meat rabbits again. But I have to prove we can take better care of them. Hubby wasn’t happy how the others kept getting out. I’m hoping to prove the idea works, so we can do rabbits and sell them.

4.       I want to make movable turkey cages. I like to grow 5 turkeys. That way we have our Thanksgiving turkey and have some in the freezer.

Improving myself

1.       Reading – I like to read 24 books this year. 12 fiction and 12 nonfiction. Reading is very important for your brain.

2.       Mediation – I would like to keep up my mediation 5 times a week. Meditation has been a great way for me to relax and regroup.

3.       Workout/Yoga – I want to do yoga 5 times a week. Yoga has been found to help me sleep better, feel more relax and helps my body. Working out is also very important. No I don’t want to be a super model. It isn’t what I’m going for. But I want to be in shape. I want to be able to keep being me. Having a healthy body is the way is the best way I want to live.

4.       Putting healthy into my body. Okay didn’t know how to write this one. I want to continue to eat healthy and know what is going into my body. I do a lot of research on what is healthy and why. I listen to people and the pray about it. I not saying eating out once a month will kill me, but I want most the food I eat to feed my body not hurt it. With everything going on a strong and healthy body is more important than ever.

Daycare

1.       Plan lesson plans and have them ready for the week. We learn though play and I need to have more hands-on lesson plans.

2.       Keep up the on the book work. This is the hardest part of the business for me. Is the book work. There is so much information needed. So much to do with it. I like to keep up on it and have it under wraps.

3.       Monthly newsletter – I struggle with getting these out. I’m so busy and they are the last thing I think about. I have to get better. This are good for parents to see what the kids are truly learning. With this I’m adding monthly journal entries. This allows the parents to see how their little ones are growing.

Oleksy Crafts, Creations, and more

1.       I want to get this business up and going. We have started it. This will be a hubby and my business. This will help us earn money together and work together. This business like the daycare is something we can take if we move. We do a lot of wood work and work together.

2.       I would love to come up with 2-3 things to sell monthly and go from there. Coming up with ideas will be hard but will be so worth it. So once a month I would like to come up with a new project and get them up.

These are my 21 goals for 2021. There is a lot here. I will break them down monthly. See where I go. Not everything will be prefect, not everything will go as planned. I will do my best to make my life better in 2021 then 20202.

Daily Goals - December 18, 2020

Did you know today was Friday? I don’t know what happened to this week. I feel like this week has flown. It has been a rough week for me mentally. Season depression is really, its hard to get outside right now, and pandemic depression is really. These two things are scary. Plus, I never really work tough the custody depression and not being able to get pregnant stuff. It is time that I start to work though this all of this. That way I can move forward with nothing in my past. I need to let it all go, but that is easier to day. It is time to work on my mental state. Wow that is a lot to say. But this is my journal, my place to be true and honest about me. I’m not perfect, and I need to be okay with that. Therefore you get to see that

Today’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6am-5:30pm. We are still learning winter. I have some fun ideas for today.

2.      Cleaning – Clean the craft room.

3.      Decorate – I still have to do this.

4.      Plant seeds – I want to plant seeds in the aqua tanks.

I don’t have so many goals, because I want to get though them. how are you handing the stress and panic of this year?

Gardening Time - 16-15 Weeks before average frost date

I am still in shocked that we are starting 2021 garden. I am so excited to get it started! I can’t wait to see what next years garden bring.

16-15 Weeks before average frost date

v  Clean up around the green house. Work on organizing it. Yes, I know you keep seeing this but this always needs to be done.

v  Plant herbs for indoors.

v  Come up a plan for plan for compost bin. I don’t have a compost bin outside anywhere. I know I need one. Best garden has amazing come compost in it. We are a no spray or add to gardens. I will have to add more mushroom compost this year, but I am hoping that the deep beds in chicken coop will break down to add this winter. I have a friend that has goats, and horse. This year I am hoping to get one amazing compost for 2022. I will be doing that 2 times a year. I will post more about this.

v  Garden Tools- Time to see what I have and what needs to be fixed.

v  Plant Seeds if I didn’t get to it. We need to make seed trays.

18-17 Weeks before average frost date

v  Clean up around the green house. Work on organizing it.

v  Place Seed orders- The magazines will be coming in soon, but I know there are something I want no matter what. I want to get them ordered. – I order a few seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, and Potatoes & Asparagus From Urban Farmer. I know more seed wants will be coming because I have a seed addiction, but I should have what I need for this year.

v  Paint the roof of the Green house. It has been painted in a few years. I want it to last a long time. Painting it will help. – We didn’t get to this. We are having 3-12 inches of snow, therefore we will not be able to get to this. Next year we will have to do it.

v  Hook up the heat to the green house.

v  Sow Herbs – Start Thyme and Parsley seeds.

v  Sow Vegetables – Start Onion and leeks.

v  Start to plan next year’s gardens. What do I want to grow? – I have started to figure out what I want in the garden. I am hoping that we can afford to double the garden size next year. We did plant a lot of berry plants. I pray they come up. I have decided that we will continue to use mulch garden idea. This works best for me. I will work on my posting mine soon.

What are you doing to get your garden started for next year? Do you have plans on what type of garden you want? Are you ordering your seeds? Let me know.

Daily Goals - December 16, 20202

Good morning, Happy Wednesday! 6:15am and 2 littles are already laying on the couch. This is going to be a long day. They are calling for 12-18 inches of snow. Parents went in early to hopeful be able to leave early. Hopeful it works that way. I am honestly expecting at least one child to be left late. But we could use a good snow day.

Today’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6:15-? I guess we will see. We are still learning about winter.

2.      Cleaning – work on cleaning the bedroom. I want to pick it up and finish the wash.

3.      Decorate – I still have to do this.

4.      Plant seeds – I want to plant seeds in the aqua tanks.

5.      Snow removal – We will be shoveling snow today.

Yesterday’s Goals

1.      Work – I work from 6:30am-5:30pm today. I have 2 little ones today and they are my young ones. We are learning about winter.  I think I might make some fake snow this afternoon and let them play with it. We had a great day! I love my little one time.

2.      Cleaning – Wash, I haven’t been keeping up on it. So there is a good amount that needs to be done. Still have to work on this goal, got some done yesterday but not all of it.  I got a load done. I just have been so slow on it.

3.      Decorate – I haven’t been in the Christmas mood. I don’t know why but I just haven’t feeling it. But it is time to decorate and get ready for it. My little ones get excited and then get me in the mood. During naptime, I will use Cass to hang out with the littles and I will go decorate a little. Nope

4.       Homestead – I have 2 hay barrels of hay left. I will throw them in the chicken coop. It will help them stay warm and have seeds to eat and starch at. They got the last of the hay and were excited for it. I love watching them scratch and be goofy in it. I can’t wait to get them new pull cages for the spring.

5.      Cleaning – Our basement is such a mess. We started last winter to empty it out, and start to reorganize. We got a lot cleaned out and started to move the stuff, but we never got to finish. Spring came, and we had many other things we want to do. Cleaning the basement is a winter thing. We are downstairs, running the fire so it gives us time. Right now, there is so much around the fire place. We need to clean it out, so we can use this winter. Which will help with our heating bill. I didn’t get there. I got in a stupid argument. Therefore put me in the mood to do nothing. Plus I wanted to crash early.

With hubby working from home again, it gives me a change to do more stuff. He watches the littles for ½ hour yesterday so I could work in the greenhouse and the kids aren’t left alone. (I never leave daycare kids alone.) I lay all the little ones down make sure they are sleep and then he brings his computer to the Livingroom and hands out with them. This is soooo helpful because I can’t always get stuff done if I can’t leave the site of them. Yesterday it gave me time to go in the green house and start to clean it, until I had and allergy attack. But I got one shelve clean and another one started. Mice are crazy and in there so that is my issue. Hopeful being in there daily will help keep them out. What do you have planned for today?

Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Last week was a busy week, we knew a snow storm is coming. We had a lot to get ready. We also had a lot of stuff to get ready for up coming events. College Girl was home with us. That was nice. We did have to have a talk about hiding her boyfriend being over. Yes, we are crazy parents that don’t believe it is our right to control her world after being 18 and going to college to control her every move. You want you boyfriend to spend the night that is your choice. But we do want to be told about it. (our belief comes from the fact that we both were living on our own at 18, and running our own life. We are here to guide her in the right direction, but not to force her) She also never gave us reason to not trust her. She though wasn’t telling us, and I almost walked in on them (not full dressed, I has in a tank top, and sweets) and then the next time he parked away form the house and made all my parents walk far to get to the house. I think she gets it now. We also don’t control her or judge her because we want her to be open with us. If you think your parents will be disappointed you won’t tell them we don’t want that either.

We also got several wood stove covers orders this week. We have been working hard on getting those orders filled. I love spend the time with hubby. It gives us something fun to work on together. It also lets me do something he loves with him. It is so important to take time and do things you partner loves to do.

I worked all week, We had so much fun! I love spending time with my littles. We learned about the letter Hh and Hanukkah. The kids had so much fun!

I also did good sticking to THM. The food was good. There were 2 recipes that didn’t turn out right, but every cookbook has them. I was on plan about 90% of the time.

This week is another busy week. But what week for us isn’t busy. I hate sitting around and there is so much to do.  I am hoping for a snow day though and if we get it I will take it and watch Hallmark movies and chill. Maybe have a snow fight with hubby.

Weekly Goals

1.   Plan kids Christmas party – I love holidays with my little ones. They get so excited. I can’t wait to plan out the party fun we are going to have.

2.   Move stuff around our wood stove in the basement. We bought fire wood this year. I want to move the stuff and use the stove. It will reduce our heating cost. With hubby working every other at home, it will make it easier to run though out the day. With this crazy world, I want to save as much money as we can.

3.   Finish up our wood stove covers, and get the next order started. This I want done but Saturday so people can pick up on Sunday.

4.   Decorate – we are decorated for Christmas. I need to get going on this.

5.   Work on gardening Goals! I want an amazing garden next year. Which means working hard to get it there.

I know not everything might not get done. That is okay. Having goals gives me stuff to do and makes me feel like I finished stuff. It helps with my anxiety and feeling of not being good enough. It shows me what I’m doing to make the house a happier and better home. What are your goals for the week? How did your week go last wee

Daily Goals - December 15, 2020

Good morning, Happy Tuesday! The morning started off nice and slow. I got 15 mins of my workout in. Not all of it but some is better then none. I showered and then took my yogurt out of the instant
pot!!! I’m so excited for homemade organic yogurt! I had both yogurt and beef broth cooking yesterday. I love having healthy homemade food for my home and family. The broth will be ready in about 3 hours, but I might wait until afternoon naptime because it will get messy. The rest of yesterday didn’t go as plan. Day was going great, but a little sleepy. After dinner we went and played Mario Kart like always. I few games just to let the stress of the day go and to laugh and have fun. We got off and I laid back and passed out. At 7:30!!!! I can’t believe I fell asleep that early. I am living more as my body will let me know what I need and last night I need sleep. Hubby covered me up and just let me sleep. I fell great this morning. That being said nothing I want to do yesterday really got done. Oh well, that is life.

Love my instant pots (yogurt and beef broth)
