Daily Goals - November 10, 2020
Happy Tuesday, Hubby got to work for home today! I love those
days. I also have one little one with me today. Today should be an easy day.
Though when I think that something crazy happens. Let plan a day with a lot of
one on one.
Our 6 Day Chicken Fodder System |
Today’s Goals
- Work- I would today from 7-5:30ish. I have my under two child, so today we will be will be working on hand songs, giggles and playing.
- Healthier Me - I want to try for 15 minutes of yoga tonight. I also want to try 15 minutes of mediations. Though with mediation, I have to be careful because I don’t want to fall asleep. That would be so against daycare codes.😳
- Home- Tuesday means the day to clean our bedroom and change the sheets. Having our sleeping place clean is a lot more helpful in falling asleep.
- Gardening – Weed the green ho use. I was honesty, my green house is a hot mess. I want to get in it and clean it out a little today.

Yesterday’s Goals
·
Work out – Last week of 21 day fix. I’m
excited to start my country heat workout. Dancing in the morning will be a fun
way to wake up. I
got my workout done. I have learned that doing right away before cleaning up
the house is a lot easier. Therefore, not so worried about parents coming right
away so showering isn’t stressful. Parents can come when I’m clean. I am
cleaning the house of their kids.
·
Life with College Student – Make Cassia’s
Care package. I just have to decorated it. Everything is bought. We are debating on if we are going
to send the package or keep it for her here. I hate so send a package and she come
back in 5 days after. I wouldn’t want to leave a lot of food in her room for 2
months.
·
Gardening time – getting in the green house
and pull some weeds.
I didn’t get to it. We were so busy getting the fodder system ready. We ran out
of time.
·
Homestead – Start our fodder with the kids
for the chickens. This project will help little learn about plants starting
from seeds, and will help the chickens have healthy greens all winter long. We put together our system. The kids
were so excited to start this. They helped me set it up we talk about the idea
of it. Then we soak seeds.
·
Reading – I want to read for 20 mins today.
I got to sit down and got
some time to read yesterday it was nice.

Garden Time - Chicken Fodder
![]() |
💖We love our chickens💖 |
I am putting this in my gardening time information. I decided this because it is growing seeds. The idea of Fodder is to sprout seed for your animals, so they have greens to eat all year around. People seem to love the idea of fresh greens for they lovable chicken. I also really like the idea, because it will let my littles watch the growth of seeds, and be able to compare it. That learning experience is fantastic for them.
I have heard about Fodder
before in through Survival HT, over a year ago. It was one thing I was like
this is a good idea 1 cup of seed can turn 2-3lbs of green food for my chicks.
I will have to try that one day.
Our set up for now, we have different shelving coming. |
Well after Covid-19 a lot of
my planning is how to have healthy happy animal that will produce amazing food
for me. How to do it without breaking the bank. I can go through 3-15 eggs day
depending who is here and what we are eating. We feed them their food, scratch,
scrapes and now fodder. Food is about $30 a month which isn’t bad about $2.50 a
dozen for eggs. (not counting hay and bedding for them) With this it should
bring it down a little. I don’t want them every to be hungry. Having fresh green
will also help keep them healthy.
The system, I bought wasn’t
as easy as Survival HT. Because I want the kids to be able to see it and
compare it. Learning about seed growth and how it grows. The system I’m using
is a 6-day system. Today we soak the seeds for 24 hours. (we started this in
our LocknLock containers) Day two you are supposed to rinse, turn, and they are
supposed start to sprout. Most things I looked up says you should rinse 2x a
day, to keep them moisten. I am going to try rinsing once a day, and then
letting the kids spray the seeds 2x a day. Before breakfast and before lunch. I
want them involved with the growing so I have to let them do something and carrying
trays of seeds, sounds like a horrible idea. If issues come up, we will adjust accordingly.
They say from day 2 to day 6 all you do is rinse. I will update you if that is
true.
Day 1 soaking seeds |
This is what we are trying.
I will take photos and update you next week on how this makes out. We should be
feeding our chickens this next week. Have you every grown Chicken Fodder? Do
you have any tips for me?

Beef Bone Broth started last night |
Happy Monday! It is a light day for
me only 2 littles with me today. They are good kids and will love the smaller group
setting and the more attention they will get. Not much going on here. Cassia facetime
yesterday for on weekly facetime. She is doing great, but ready to come home.
With covid-19 being an issue, her college has kept them on campus until 24th
of November. She will be back for a few months; this mommy can't wait. Though I
have to send this months care package.

Gardening time - 29 weeks after my last frost
I love my Garden time. It
gives me a chance to be outside away from everything. Winter is coming though,
which means it will be cold and get dark early. Therefore, there won’t be a
much to do in the gardens. In Pa we will get snow, not a lot but several storms.
At this time, I don’t have any grow tunnels. I do though have an amazing green
house. I also have 2 aquaponic tanks in the house. I do get to grow a little
more in the winter. I did reorder my Week-by-Week Vegetable Gardener’s Handbook
and it came. This book has always helped me know where I should be during the
season. It helps me so much with my garden. I am in Southeast Pa, zone 6b. Our
last frost was April 24th, 29 weeks after my last frost. This is
important to know what week you are on to use the book. This book gives you 4-5
things you should be working on. I will not write all of it and will adjust it
to what I’m doing.
29 Weeks after last frost
v Clean
up around the green house. My Greenhouse needs a lot of love. It is such a hot
mess I can’t get in it.
v Weed
the green house. I haven’t been in the green house this growing season, I bet
there will be huge over growth.
v Paint
the roof of the Green house. It has been painted in a few years. I want it to
last a long time. Painting it will help.
v Order
more hay. This will either be a huge help for my gardens or the biggest pain I’
have ever done.
v Start
to pick up the floor in the green house and organize it. Go though pots and
start to clean them for next season.
v Start
to plan next years gardens. What do I want to grow?
I am a goal person. Being able to cross things of makes
me so excited. What are you doing to make your garden grow?
Weekly Goals - November 8-14, 2020
To be better than you were yesterday, you have to set goals
to get there. I set goals to help me push to be better. Being better is always
the best way to live.
Weekly Goals
1.
Healthier Me – I want to be around to see my
grandchildren and even their kids. I also love doing my job and being around
littles. To do this I have to be the healthiest that I can be, both mentally
and physically. Working out is not my favorite thing to do and I avoid it if I
can. Therefore, it normal ends up a daily goal, so I can cross it off. This
week, I want to finish up my beachbody 21-day fix. I would also like to hit
10,000 steps 6 times this week. The last thing I would like to do is continue to
do 10 mins of yoga and 10 mins of mediation 5 time this week.
2.
Reading- I love reading. Right now, with
everyone on tv being crazy. It is time for me to give it up for now. That
sounds crazy I know. We are living through Covid-19 we don’t need it on the TV
making us sadder about it. It isn’t the time. I will be watching a lot more YouTube
of Gardening. That is better, anyway right? Learning is better then watching
drama. My books will give me a place to escape for the drama that I do like.
3.
Cooking – I love cooking dinner. I love know hubby
is getting healthy foods, and so are my littles. My goal is to stay on the
weekly schedule and only eat out one time.
4.
Crafting Life – I have 2 Daycare Projects; I want
to get done this week. Apple baskets, and counting leaves.
5.
Life with a College Student – Start to get Camper
ready for her to come home. Move it air it out, and put her stuff in it. This might
take a little longer then I want, but I want to get it done. She will be home
for the summer soon, and a place of her own will be important.
